code fault after installation

I really appreciate the work that is done. This may have already been fixed in 3.0.1., but I could not find it for Windows XP.

BUG:
octave-3.0.0
New graphics backend installed OK, but will not run. It gives a fault condition in the Octave window and aborts the start up.

gnuplot works.
I tried installing using the generic CPU model.  Same behavior.

Operating system:  Windows XP, service pack 2
Computer: Gateway Laptop,  M465
CPU:  T2500 @ 2.00GHz. .99 GB of RAM.
