octave-3.0.3 crashes while executing 'expfit' ("free(): invalid pointer")

It runs just fine on my 32 bit machine running Ubuntu Linux. Since,
you're the one seeing the bug, could you try to run Octave in a debugger
while this script executes to see where the failure happens? Otherwise I
doubt anybody will be able to fix this.
