Solaris 10 1/06 x86 & Octave 3.0.0

Compiling 3.0.0 w/ gcc 3.4.3 on Solaris 10 x86 1/06
succeeds but octave fails w/ a segmentation fault at
startup.  I built gcc 4.2.3, but Octave won't get
through the compile w/ it (fails w/ reloc errors).

Is there a compiler known to work?  I've got the Sun
Studio 11 compilers installed, but assume that Octave
has some g++isms in it, so I haven't tried using them.

Note I don't have sendmail running, so octave-bug
won't work, but I can collect whatever info is needed
and put it in a tarball.
