Does sqp example work ?

OK.  Unfortunately, this change was mixed in with a much larger and
unrelated change.  I've extracted just the change to __qp__.cc and
updated it for the release-3-0-x branch.

Jaroslav, will you please apply the changeset below to your
release-3-0-x archive?
