octave 3.0.3 Bus Error under Mac OS X 10.4.11/Intel

This is a choice that a stable release is suppose to have a stable API 
and so oct-files created with one version are supposed to run with 
another version of octave in the same series. From your comment it looks 
like there was an api changes that one of the octave-forge packages 
uses. Can you say which package caused the issue, and we might be able 
to track down what change was made that caused this and ensure in the 
future that a similar change doesn't cause the same issue?
