This looks OK for me.

The 2 remaining problems are:
1. The text overlap.  I will try using text("xxx",...)  instead of xlabel()
    and title().

2. The bounding box (as set in the first line written to gnuplot) is as
    it was (cuts off parts of the display in X11 and in display tools
    that obey the bounding box size for display.)
