Specifying absolute figure size

When I print a figure, it defaults to 6.5" by 5". I would like to  
increase the height so that the figure is 6.5" by 8". From searching  
Google, the figure size is controlled by the PaperPosition attribute  
of the figure in Matlab, which my version of octave is missing. Any  
suggestions?
