why does my figure window go blank

Hello,

    I have installed 3.0.1 with jhandles as graphics backend.

   when I say
   b = [1 1];
   a = 1;
   zplane(b, a);

   it plots the figure, but as soon as I make the figure window
   bigger it just blacks out. any fix for this?
