from some other emails I have an Idea:
should we have some more brackets in this line?
if (iscell (matches) && numel (matches) > 0 && iscellstr (matches{1}))
like
if ( ( (iscell (matches) && numel (matches)) > 0 ) && iscellstr 
(matches{1}))

I will try it now and see (it will be 2-3 hours to see the result)
