problem with axis

no labels for the tics (for example 0  1  2  3  4 ...) on the axis - 
only a plain line with an arrow on the end if this is possible.

I think I have found my mistake - box("off") disables the axis :-/ But a 
box is not neccessary.

What I want is the following:
