Abort calculation by Ctrl-C closes Octave

When using Octave 3.0.1 on Vista, pressing Ctrl-C to abort a lengthy
calculation closes Octave. I'm sure pre-3.0.0 versions didn't do this, also
Ctrl-C works fine on 3.0.0 under Gnu/Linux.

How do I abort a lengthy calculation without closing Octave?
