Thank you for replying John.
I've found the QT qmake directory. cmake can be run interactively (q/a).
I will contact the Qtoctave mailing list. The "install" instructions 
were written for an earlier version of Qtoctave, so information may be 
missing.

Octave version 3.0.2 is working fine.
