Parallel octave ??

Hi all octave users,

    Downloaded Parallel octave from:

http://www.higuchi.ecei.tohoku.ac.jp/octave/patch/octave-parallel_mpi_0.0.4.tar.gz

Also, octave-2.1.73.tar which is downloaded from GNU ftp site is installed
in /opt/apps/octave/srl

But while installing parallel octave , I'm facing following error:

libdld_common.cc:413: error: at this point in file
libdld_common.cc:422: error: 'swap_4_bytes' was not declared in this scope
make[3]: *** [libdld_common.o] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory
`/export/packages/apps/octave/poctave-0.0.4/dld/libdld_common'
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/export/packages/apps/octave/poctave-0.0.4/dld'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/export/packages/apps/octave/poctave-0.0.4'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

May I know how to fix it?

Some doubts:

Does the latest version of octave from GNU:
ftp://ftp.octave.org/pub/octave/octave-3.0.2.tar.gz support MPI?

If so, how to use it? ( point me to a document)

If not, is there parallel version available? which is developed by others

Thank you,
Sangamesh
