As for the code, this is great and the only comments I have are more
style issues. I can update the style and commit these if you like, or
you might like to read the "Octave Sources" section of
http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/file/tip/doc/interpreter/contrib.txi
that discusses some of the stylistic constraints on the Octave sources..
Tell me what you want to do, and I'll go ahead and commit these additions.
One point however, the utility of the "cgs" function is limited by the
fact that Octave doesn't yet have good pre-conditioner functions. It
would be great if that point was also addressed.
