3.0.3 - call for patches

hello,

this is the first "call for patches" for the upcoming 3.0.3 release.
Please suggest patches from the development tree you'd wish to be
applied to the 3.0.x tree. Transplanting patches from development repo
is preferable, but stand-alone patches may be accepted if necessary.
