2nd call for patches

hi,
this is the second (and last) call for patches for 3.0.3 release.
Please suggest patches you wish to be applied to the 3.0.x series.
Transplanting changesets from development repo is preferable;
stand-alone patches may be accepted if necessary.
Next Wed I'm about to announce a freeze for 3.0.3, and I'll be longing
for the regular builders to report successes :)

FYI, we have no less than 34 patches in the 3.0.x branch since 3.0.2,
and a few are still pending (waiting for application into John's
repo).
