Hi Marco 
unfortunately this just solve the easy symptom, but not the
original problem reported by Tetsuro.

I made a simple and fast test replacing all the scripts/plots 
files in rc5 with the original files of 3.0.3 and the fault
on the handles is still there.

So I suspect the issue is around src/graphics.cc
has there were some changes around handles.
